Luigi Grassi was born in Campobasso in 1985. He studied stage design and photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, . In his artistic research he works on phptography in a magic and visionary way, starting from autobiographical experiences to go over exploring a world of fantasy and dream. Since the beginning Grassi, although raised in the era of digital photography, focuses on a fascinating process of “recovery” and experimentation with ancient techniques of photo printing, from printing silver halide to gum bichromate, however, without despising the most contemporary techniques of digital printing. This particular attention to technique will lead him to cooperate with the Chair of Photography at the Fine Arts Academy of Naples as an Expert Photo. In 2008 He starts to collaborate with the PrimoPiano Gallery Naples, so he presents his works at the Rencontres d’Arles 2008and 2009 at the Temporay PrimoPiano Gallery.
In 2011 the present headquarters of PrimoPiano Napoli a photographic project “L’Estate, forse” in a curatorial project by Maiorino on the Neorealismo Magico titled: (…) O si è assunti in cielo o si precipita”, a double personal exhibition togheter with the photographer Massimo Pastore and with the artist Antonella Raio as Guest artist.
